'Zippy de Zip' Bracelet Tutorial

Hello there,

I have been crafting like mad - for other people again, so it was time to make something for myself for a change. Ha - I couldn't think of anything to make so I sat down in my crafting room and waited for the inspiration to come. My little box with my zipper stash grabbed my attention - because the lid flew off the other day when I accidentally dropped the whole thing... and I still hadn't bothered to go and look for it.

ZIPPERS!!

So I decided to make this, which was a lot more interesting than searching for the lid :))

A ZIPPER BRACELET

It is really simple to make and lots of fun too. I made pics again of this adventure and added a few improvement suggestions... I had no more zippers to make another one and try out different approaches :)

1. Grab zippers, at least the size of your wrist.
Save one for the middle, that holds them all together (mine was white).

 2. Cut them into strips.

3. Sew together, one on top of each other with the zipper foot. I varied the spacing between them too, for a better look.

4. Once happy with the size of the bracelet, trim the edges. They must be at least the size of your wrist, remember! The looser, the easier the fitting.

5. Now with right sides facing, sew the zip onto the bracelet. No worries - no needles will break!
Repeat on the other side. I used the normal food for this.

6. I tucked the ends of the zip behind the bracelet before sewing - and in the end you can easily fold the zip out to create a smooth edge and hide the seam. Hope this makes sense...

7. Now go over the right side of the zip to secure it again. I used the zipper foot again for this.

8. If you found a zip that was the exact length of your bracelet, you are done!!
If not, here is a little trick: Mark where you want your zip to end and go over that mark with your machine a couple of times, preventing the zip to get undone.

This is what you end up with...

And this is what it'll look like on your wrist.

Just tuck the end of the zip in, and you're also done :))
It's what I had to do, but I guess that happens when you use up a stash,
you don't really have everything exactly the way'd need it :))

 FERTIG!

Enjoy,
